Tried out Amami recently and was pleasantly surprised! The sashimi was the clear standout—super fresh with thick, melt-in-your-mouth slices. We ordered one of the dinner combos, which was pretty solid, but honestly, the sashimi is what makes this place worth coming back to. Some of the newer or cooked dishes were just okay, but nothing disappointing. Service was friendly, and the vibe is laid-back and casual. Definitely coming back for more sashimi!

mami Sushi is a cool new spot that has a great, Japanese dining experience. The simple, modern design is refreshing and inviting, creating a comfortable atmosphere. loved the by the window seating with the view on Geary. The service is incredibly attentive, with staff going out of their way to ensure a you get a good dining experience. The only downside was that a some menu items were missing during (no sake😕), but that didn’t detract from the overall meal. The Omakase is a must-try, showcasing an impressive selection of fresh, different variety of fish, making your taste buds explode. The “Melted in the Mouth” roll is also a standout - absolutely delicious and living up to its name with each bite. “Dragon” can be skipped though. Highly recommend of you are looking for great sushi in a welcoming, simple environment!

The omakase is on point! Writing this review has me wanting to go back again. The specialty roll ... mouth watering. My experience was absolutely phenomenal, not just because the food tasted so great but because the staff is incredible as well, friendly and charismatic. Great sushi, great staff, great ambiance ... this is the go-to spot alone or with friends!
